Segezha promises to invest 5 bln rbl in Arkhangelsk Reg projects
MOSCOW, Jul 9 (PRIME) --Russia’s pulp and paper holding Segezha Group plans to invest 5.2 billion rubles in new projects in the Arkhangelsk Region in the coming years, President Mikhail Shamolin told acting Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybylsky on Thursday.
“The president of Segezha Group said that a new timber sawing line will be built at the Onega Sawmills, which will raise the facility’s capacity by 22,000 cubic meters to 265,000 cubic meters of timber materials. Investment will stand at 2.2 billion rubles,” a spokesperson for the company told PRIME.
The company also plans to create a pellet production line with an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes of fuel pellets per year. The plant will be focused on exports. Segezha also plans to spend about 600 million rubles to set up a digital monitoring system to control timber transportation in the region.
Shamolin also said Segezha planned to build a 1.8 billion ruble cross-laminated timber plant in the region with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters. The company planned the launch for 2023.
